Obiako Interview: "We can still end up in the top three spot"

In this week’s episode of famous interviews, we focus on one of the pillers of the defense.  Although he's a very soft spoken  person off the field, he surely let's his playing do all the talking on the field.

For those who don't know, what is your name and what do you do?

My name is Charles Obiako. I just graduated from the University of Houston with an MS in Accounting. I am set to start working with KPMG auditing department in the fall.

Tell us a little bit about your family.

My family is based in Togo. I have six siblings; three brothers and three sisters. We were all born and raised in Togo but now we're spread out. My brother and I live here in Houston. My other brother lives in Ghana, all my sisters live in Nigeria and our youngest one is in Togo.

When growing up where did you think you would be at this time in your life?

At this point in my life, I thought I would be all settle in: have my own family and rolling with a nice fancy job; basically living a stress free life, but we all know things don't always go as planned.

Now that you have played with Shooting Stars Club for 2 years, how do you feel you have impacted the team?

I hope that I helped solidify the team, especially the defense. My goal was to bring energy in the line up that will help fuel our offense.

What do you think SSFC needs as a team?

Looking at the way we have played recently, I believe that we have all the right pieces in place. We just need to keep our composure, trust our team mates, play with a smart energy and most importantly stay fit. I think that everybody showing up every game will help a lot because when you look at our last game for example, we could have used a little bit more help to win it.

Considering SSFC's recent performance, where do you think the team will finish at the end of the season?

I like the way we are playing right now and if we keep it up we can still end up in the top three spot.

If you could name one person who had an impact in your life, who would it be and why would you pick that person?

My dad I would say. Most of my philosophy about life and how to deal with people and situations, I got it from him
